Eureka rides pins to dual mat win over Vikes
BIGFORK — As expected, it was a long night for Bigfork’s wrestling team on Friday.
Visiting Eureka used its experience to pin its way to a 65-6 Class B dual victory in the season opener for both schools.
The match was also the first for Bigfork in 12 seasons. The Vikings dropped wrestling in 2002.
“Inexperience,” Bigfork coach Josh Feller said of the biggest obstacle facing his wrestlers this season.
“But this will give us a great base to work forward from.”
Vinny Quirk provided Bigfork with the lone highlight — posting a pin in his 182-pound match.
Getting pins for Eureka were Zach Durden (120), Levi Lambertson (132), James Dunn (138), Colby Hammack (152), Wyatt Miller (160), Joe Fehr (170), Miles Plemmons (182), Kaelen Yanick (195) and Kamoran Anderson (heavyweight).
Bigfork’s next outing is Tuesday at home with St. Ignatius.
