Flathead boys, girls lose basketball openers
COEUR d’ALENE, Idaho — Colby Daniels and Devin Kluss scored 11 points apiece for the Coeur d’Alene Vikings, who beat the Flathead Braves 61-30 in the nonconference opener for both schools on Saturday afternoon at Elmer Jordan Court.
It was the season opener for both teams.
Justin Carpenter scored nine points for Coeur d’Alene, which hosts Timberlake on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Adam Bradley scored nine points for Flathead.

COEUR d’ALENE, Idaho — Sydni Parker made 8-of-11 field goal attempts, including 4-of-6 from beyond the 3-point line for 24 points, leading the Vikings past the Flathead Bravettes at Elmer Jordan Court.
Brittany Tackett had 14 points and six steals, Sara Chalich 13 points and Parker added six steals for Coeur d’Alene (6-0), which travels to Chiawana High of Pasco (Wash.) on Friday.
Kelsey Nowland-Gillespie led Flathead (0-1) in scoring with eight points.
