The annual Christmas at Our House free community dinner is Saturday, Dec. 14, in Kalispell. Everyone is invited.

Hosted by the National Guard, the dinner will be at the National Guard Armory on U.S. 93 just north of West Reserve Drive. This year’s event also will welcome home soldiers from the 495th Support Battalion after almost a year of deployment.

Help is needed from noon to 2 p.m., 2 to 4 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. In addition, cleanup help is needed after 5:30 p.m.

Pies and dinner rolls still are needed. If you can help, call Janice McMichael at 257-7535, extension 199, or 871-7604.

Monetary donations may be sent to help defray costs of the community dinner. Make your check payable to “Christmas at Our House” and send to Christmas at Our House, 2989 U.S. 93 N., Kalispell, MT 59901.

Along with the dinner, there will be a community food drive for the Flathead Food Bank and the Northwest Veterans Food Pantry. The public is asked to bring canned goods or a nonperishable item to donate.

Eagle Transit will offer a free shuttle service from Kalispell, Whitefish and Columbia Falls to the armory. The buses will stop at senior apartments, grocery stores, libraries and other public buildings.

For the complete bus schedule, go to http://www.flathead.mt.gov/eagle and click on the “Christmas at Our House” link on the right-hand side of the screen, or call 758-5728.
