Joseph Peter Kaye, 46
Joseph Peter Kaye “went to be with the Lord” on Nov. 15, 2013, as a result of complications from a recent surgery. He was 46 years old.
Joe was born Dec. 19, 1966, in San Diego and raised there. He attended school in East County.
Joe was known by his family and friends as a gregarious, fun-loving man and his family referred to him as “Mr. Archive” because his memory was phenomenal; he didn’t forget anything.
After meeting and marrying his wife Betsy in April of 2002, they decided to leave California and make a life together in Montana, settling in Bigfork near Flathead Lake. Joe was an entrepreneur and managed self-storage businesses that he owned with his partners near Missoula, Kalispell and Polson.
Joe loved the Montana lifestyle. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He and Betsy spent many summer days out on Flathead Lake enjoying time on the water with their jet skies. Joe was a great cook and never wasted an opportunity to use his barbecue, even in the Montana winters. Joe’s cooking never failed to please and he especially liked steak and lobster.
Joe will be missed by his family and friends here on earth, “but we all have comfort in knowing that he is walking the streets of gold with our Lord.”
He was predeceased by his mother, Beverly J. Kaye.
He is survived by his wife, Betsy; four stepchildren, Heather, Samantha, Nathan and Jason; as well as his father, Gerry Kaye, and stepmother, Beverly E. Kaye; brothers, Steve Manis, Chuck Kaye and Sean Kaye; and two sisters, Julie Vaughn and Shelly Allen.
