Swimming: Glacier boys place 4th in Butte

BUTTE — The Glacier boys, led by individual winners Jake Cirincione (200 individual medley) and Joshua Loyda (100 backstroke) and the first-place 200 medley relay team, finished fourth at the Butte Invitational swim meet on Saturday.

Cirincione’s winning time was 2:09.24. He finished more than four seconds faster than the runner-up in the IM.

Loyda won his event with a time of 55.75.

Cirincione, who placed third in the 100 breaststroke, and Loyda, who was second in the 50 freestyle, also swam a leg on the winning relay along with Tommy Briner and Alex Augusta.

Augusta finished sixth in the 50 freestyle.

For the Flathead boys, who were sixth in the team standings, David Sitagata was sixth in the 100 butterfly. The Braves also placed fifth in the 400 freestyle relay.

In girls action, Flathead and Glacier placed sixth and seventh, respectively, in the team standings.

McKenzie Lane of Flathead finished fifth in the 200 freestyle.

Emma Hornby of Glacier was fourth in the 100 freestyle and sixth in the 200 individual medley.
