Mayoral duties the only thing on agenda

Tonight’s Kalispell City Council meeting could be a short one, with only one item of business on the agenda.
The council will consider final action on amending an ordinance relating to mayoral duties for appointments to advisory boards and committees.
The council recently approved a first reading of the amendment, which would maintain the mayor’s role in recommending applicants for positions to the council, but with a slight change.
If four council members do not concur with the mayor’s recommendation, any council member could advance an alternative applicant without first having the mayor’s recommendation.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in council chambers at City Hall on First Avenue East.
