LAS VEGAS — Tyler Latimer and Karson Frisk scored in the second period to lift the Glacier Nationals to a 2-1 win over the Yellowstone Quake at an exhibition junior hockey showcase Tuesday at SoBe Ice Arena.

Yellowstone’s Trent Carter opened the scoring at 4:41 in the first period before the Nationals rallied in the second. Brett Fernandez and Padraic Ripple assisted Latimer’s goal and Tanner Dodd assisted Frisk.

Nationals goaltender Pierre Gustafsson stopped 40 of 41 shots to earn the win.

Gustafsson was one of four Nationals on an AWHL All-Star team that lost 5-1 to the Helena Bighorns. He stopped 8 of 9 shots in that game. Glacier defenseman Jonas Svehn assisted the All-Stars’ only goal. Chris Cutshall and John Tesarek also participated.

The Nationals fell 4-1 to the Gillette Wild Monday on the opening day of the showcase. Frisk netted Glacier’s only goal with assists from Dodd and Paul Kinder.
