Basketball: Bison beat Glacier boys

GREAT FALLS — Matthew Wyman hit a runner in the lane with six seconds left to give Great Falls High a 74-73 Class AA boys basketball victory over Glacier on Saturday afternoon.

Wyman finished with a 28 points.

Glacier was unable to get a shot off after Wyman hit his game-winner.

Great Falls outscored Glacier in the fourth quarter, 21-14.

Glacier took a 73-72 lead with 10 seconds remaining on a pair of free throws by Greg Jones.

Evan Epperly had a monster game for Glacier with a career high 32 points and 10 assists.

“It was phenomenal,” Glacier coach Mark Harkins said of Epperly’s performance.

“We was a warrior. He did everything he could for us to get the win.”

Bryan Michaels also had a double-double for Glacier with 12 points and 13 rebounds.

Tanner Olson finished with 15 points for the Wolfpack.

“A good shooting night (for those three),” Harkins said.

“We had good performances, we didn’t get it done in the end. It was a good game.”

Glacier (2-1) is off until Jan. 3 when it travels to Missoula to face Sentinel in a Western AA contest.
