Knitting classes offered in January

Tammy Eigeman Thompson at Woolen Collectibles offers several classes for knitters throughout the month of January.

The Seamless Raglan

Cost: $45 for three sessions

1-3 p.m. Jan. 7, 14 and 21 or 5:30-7 p.m. Jan. 6, 13 and 20

Thompson’s favorite sweater is a seamless one. Seamless sweaters are very comfortable because they stretch in all directions, and having no seams, they require no sewing. Come venture into the world of seamless sweaters.

Beginning Knitting

Cost: $45 for four sessions

1-3 p.m. Jan. 6, 13, 20 and 27

Knitting warm, comfortable, attractive clothing is calming to the mind and soothing to the spirit (and fun). This class covers needles, yarns and basic stitches with lots of time to practice, ask questions and discover the joy of this ancient craft.

The Classic Cable Cowl

Cost: $30 for two sessions

3-4:30 p.m. Jan. 8 and 15

Add a rich dimension to knitting with cables. In this class knitters will learn to create a classic cable with a few twists.

Knitted Vest

Cost: $45 for four sessions

11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 9, 16, 23 and 30

Knitted vests are a wonderful addition to everyone’s wardrobe and are perfect for this winter season to help protect from the winter cold.

Open Knitting

Is there an ailing sweater project in your life? A pattern suffering from confusion? A technique so cold it needs resuscitation?

Come from noon to 2 p.m. Saturdays to get your projects up and wearing.
