Area players earn MSU football awards

Three area players received Coaches Choice Awards at the Montana State University football awards banquet.

Austin Barth of Columbia Falls was named the Offensive Scout of the Year; Luke Halliburton of Kalispell was the Defensive Scout of the Year; and Vince DiGiallonardo of Polson was the Special Teams Scout of the Year.

Libby’s Joel Fuller was a member of the Winner’s Circle on defense.

PLAYERS CHOICE AWARDS

Don Hass Most Inspirational Award: Tray Robinson, RB (Euless, Texas)

Sonny Holland Offensive MVP: DeNarius McGhee, QB (Euless, Texas)

Bill Kollar Defensive MVP: DE Caleb Schreibeis (Billings)

Jan Stenerud Special Teams MVP: P/K Rory Perez (Moreno Valley, Calif.)

COACHES CHOICE AWARDS

Dennis Erickson Offensive Coaches Choice Award: Shaun Sampson, C (Helena)

Joe Tiller Defensive Coaches Choice Award: Jody Owens, LB (Mesquite, Texas)

Special Teams Coaches Choice: Chase Young (Augusta)

Offensive Scout of the Year: Austin Barth (Columbia Falls)

Defensive Scout of the Year: Luke Halliburton (Kalispell)

Special Teams Scout of the Year: Vince DiGiallonardo (Polson)
