Libby teacher publishes novel

| February 6, 2013 5:30 PM

A Libby High School teacher has released his first novel.

David Pickering’s “Individually Twisted: A Teen Conspiracy” is a satire and fable involving rich kids getting richer in the name of unwholesome entrepreneurship. The lucrative tales begins in the lavish suburbs north of Chicago and ends in Montana, at Livingston’s Murray Bar.

“Not all criminals get caught,” Pickering said. “Sometimes they get away with their misdeeds, and a few even get rich in the process. ‘Individually Twisted’ is about kids breaking the law, getting away with it all and riding off into the sunset with ill-gotten millions. It happens.”

Todd Mattson, an independent filmmaker, wrote of the novel in an online review that “Individually Twisted” is “‘Stand By Me’ meets ‘Trainspotting’ set in a John Hughes 1980s North Shore suburban Chicago.”

The novel is available as an e-book and paperback on Amazon.com.
