Otherworldly orbs observed
Flathead County Sheriff’s Office received an otherworldly report after a South Eighty Drive resident in Somers reported seeing three large bright lights in the sky, orange in color, while the sky was brighter than he had ever seen it. The man said he did not hear any engine noise and that it was definitely not an airplane or helicopter. He also noted that he tried to call 911 when he saw the lights but his cellphone wouldn’t work, leading him to believe it was some type of UFO.
A Bigfork mother who had reached her limit reported her son had destroyed her vehicle Wednesday morning. She wanted to press charges.
A concerned, if inebriated, Montana 35 man called to say his fiancee did not come home the prior night.

A vigilant citizen reported a suspicious vehicle backed up to the doors of a U.S. 2 West school that had recently been broken into. Deputies were unable to locate the vehicle.
An employee of a West Reserve Drive business found and turned over a bong with marijuana inside.
A power company employee found a methamphetamine pipe and needle at a West Valley Drive property and turned them over to deputies to be destroyed. It appeared the items had been thrown over a fence.
A Tall Pine Ridge resident received a threatening email from a man to whom she tried to sell a car.
A Tamarack Lane resident in Columbia Falls reported an ongoing problem with several dogs running loose in the neighborhood. Deputies have been unable as of yet to locate the dogs.
A passerby chased down a “cute little black dog” on Sixth Street West in Columbia Falls, which was impounded at the animal shelter by an animal control officer.
The Kalispell Police Department received a pair of mistaken reports of trespassing and burglary Wednesday evening.
At 7:10 p.m., a man in his grandmother’s Third Avenue West home reported hearing somebody moving around in the basement. It turned out to be the neighbor, who also had access to the basement of the multi-residence building.
At 8:41 p.m., a woman reported she had received a call from her nephew saying there was a strange vehicle at her North Meridian Road business loading up items. That turned out to be the cleaning lady.
A Denver Avenue woman reported her ex-partner, against whom she has a restraining order, logged into her Instagram account, changing the name and changing the picture on the account to a disturbing image.
An irate motorist reported a panhandler on Treeline Road that stepped out in front of his vehicle. He said he didn’t hit the panhandler but wanted to know why panhandlers were allowed to be there, and said if one steps out in front of his vehicle and gets hit, he will sue the city.
A bicyclist refused medical attention after being hit by a pickup truck on West Idaho Street.
A Sixth Avenue West woman reported her brother tried to hit her with a hammer a month ago, and they’d had another fight two weeks ago.
An employee of a U.S. 2 West business reported a lot of syringes were being found in the parking lot.
Whitefish Police officers responded to an East Seventh Street school after a responsible student found a glass pipe with marijuana inside on the playground by the swings and turned it in to a teacher. A school employee reported the pipe must have been left on the playground over the weekend due to traffic in the area from the Winter Carnival.
A dog was captured and taken to the animal shelter after it was reported wandering down U.S. 93 South dragging a 20-foot rope. The dog had some skin irritation on its neck and on the back of its ears from the rope, but had no collar and no ID chip.
A worried Nucleus Avenue resident contacted the Columbia Falls Police Department after she was threatened by a man who told her to “watch your back” after she took a person to the hospital whom the man had beaten up.
A parent entered a bus on 13th Street West and threatened the driver.
