Columbia Falls boys, girls sweep Polson

COLUMBIA FALLS — The Columbia Falls boys basketball team beat Polson 67-56 Thursday in its regular season finale.

The win was the fifth in a row for Columbia Falls (7-1 Northwestern A, 13-5 overall)

Jared Trinastich led the Wildcats with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Luke Kazlauskas and Alex Presnell also reached double-figure scoring with 19 and 12 points, respectively. 

Derek Peel hit eight three-pointers and scored a game-high 27 for Polson (1-6, 6-11).

Polson travels to Whitefish Saturday.

COLUMBIA FALLS — Columbia Falls (8-0 Northwestern A, 15-3 overall) held off a late charge by Polson (3-4, 6-11) to win its regular season finale.

Columbia Falls center Haley Belgarde scored 15 of her game-high 20 points in the second half. Guard Ciera Finberg scored 12 of her 18 in the first half.

Heidi Rausch led Polson with 16 points. Mckenzie Banner scored 12.

Polson wraps up its regular season Saturday in Whitefish.
