HELENA — For Glacier’s fifth-ranked boys basketball team, it was a successful weekend.

The Wolfpack (15-3 overall, 8-2 Western AA) capped it off Saturday with a matinee Western AA victory over Helena High, 57-46.

On Friday, Glacier avenged an earlier-season loss by beating No. 4 Helena Capital 46-41.

“It’s been awhile since we swept (in Helena),” Glacier coach Mark Harkins said. “It was a good trip for us.”

Bryan Michaels had a double-double for Glacier versus Helena High with 17 points and 11 rebounds.

“He had a huge game for us,” Harkins said.

Glacier jumped in front 17-9 and led 29-15 at the half.

“I was a little nervous after an emotional game last night (Friday),” Harkins said. “I thought they might be a little flat. They got that lead in the first quarter, came out right away and played a very good game.”

Harkins said Glacier had 15 assists, a statistic that pleased the coach.

“They are sharing the ball,” he said.

“I’m proud of them.”

Helena (8-9, 3-7) was led offensively by Troy Arntson with 10 points.

Glacier has two regular-season games left, and both are at home and Western AA contests — Thursday with Flathead and Friday with Hellgate.
