Student writing contest open

Student writers are invited to submit short stories and poems to Authors of the Flathead’s 2013 High School Writing Contest.

The annual competition offers writers in grades nine through 12 the chance to compete for cash awards for excellence in writing. The short story contest features $300, $200 and $100 prizes; poetry winners can take home $125, $75 or $50.

Submissions must be postmarked before midnight April 13.
