Timothy James O'Dell, 50

Timothy James O'Dell, 50, passed away Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, in Moscow, Idaho.

Tim was born Dec. 27, 1962, in Butte, to James and Roberta O'Dell, the sixth of seven children. He graduated from Butte Central High School and attended Montana State University. Tim moved from Bozeman to Kalispell in 1991.

Much of Tim's life in Kalispell centered around the Lamplighter House. Tim enjoyed ferrying passengers around Kalispell and local surrounds in the Lamplighter van and prided himself as an excellent and cautious driver — as he wanted nothing to do with the police!

Tim loved to fish and could claim the last one he caught was the biggest in his life ... really ... no, seriously. He had recently taken up golf and had planned to take up keeping score eventually. Tim had many a fond memory of his boyhood friends and their Butte adventures. (He recently agreed that no one knows for sure who threw that rock.)

Tim had virtues that few possess. He let you see who he was with no pretenses.  Those who knew him found it was indeed a rare occasion to see Tim angry or difficult. His needs were little, and often his words few.

 Tim was quick with a smile and kept a joke handy at all times.

As the family would say, “We hope that God is not a blonde.”

He was not one to complain and kept true to this inner strength of character up until his last day.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Roberta “Bobbie” O'Dell; his brother, Mike O'Dell; and his sister, Colleen O'Dell.

He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Sean and Cindy O'Dell, of Bigfork, and their children, Caitlann and Bram; his brother and sister-in-law, Pat and Michele O'Dell, of Littleton, Colo., and their children, Keira, Bryant and Lari; his sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Alan McDonald, of Moscow, Idaho, and their children, Kelli and Nikki; and his sister, Kathleen O'Dell, of Los Angeles.

Memorial services for Tim in Kalispell are pending and will be held at a future date.      Memorials can be made in his honor to Lamplighter House at 410 Windward Way, Kalispell, MT 59901.
