Franklin Merle Derochie, 61
Franklin Merle Derochie, 61, passed away suddenly at his lake property on the evening of Feb. 21, 2013.
He was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada in April of 1951, to Merle and Lorraine.
Frank graduated from high school in Calgary and continued his education at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, completing the chef’s programme. Frank worked with his father for a few years before establishing his own successful painting company that was founded in Coaldale, Alberta.
In his leisure he loved spending time at the lake, surrounded by family and friends, on the water and in the woods. He loved to be out on the boat and cooking for the company he took pleasure in entertaining.
The family takes comfort knowing that Frank passed away in his favorite place in the world.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy; children, Robert Derochie, and Genna and Dane Wilson; grandchildren, Aisley and Corbin Derochie; siblings, Randy and Kim Derochie, Laurie Stewart Lacassio, Deb and Glen McKinnon, Michelle and Jordy Selk, Michael and Corinne Derochie, and Gord and Nina Stewart; numerous nieces and nephews; and several extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his son, Billy Derochie, who passed in 1992; mother, Lorraine, in 2007; and nephew, James, in 1992.
Many thanks for the care and compassion given by the Coram-West Glacier Volunteer Fire Department and Three Rivers Ambulance services.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make donations to the Coram-West Glacier Volunteer Fire Department (CWGVFD), P.O. Box 163, West Glacier, MT 59936.
