The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office, working with Crimestoppers, is looking for help in a 2012 burglary case.

The burglary was initially reported on April 18, 2012, when an acquaintance of the owners of an Idaho Hill Road property in Marion reported that all four buildings on the property — including an off-the-grid cabin — as well as the home itself were burglarized.

The owners of the vacation home, located in a relatively remote area, were in Arizona at the time of the crime.

According to a Crimestoppers release, evidence indicates the suspect or suspects may have made several trips into the home to remove property between March and November 2012.

Among the items stolen were some significant pieces, such as a World War II Japanese bolt-action rifle, a yellow electric bass guitar, a small Fender amplifier and a bearskin rug complete with head and claws.

The crime also resulted in extensive damage to the structure.

Anyone with knowledge of the burglary is encouraged to contact the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office at 758-5610 or Crimestoppers at 752-8477.
