Two dogs feared to be rabid
The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office received two calls about animal bites within 22 minutes Tuesday.
At 2:13 p.m., an employee of a veterinary hospital on Ponderosa Lane reported that a man called him saying his daughter was attacked by their dog, which had not yet been tested for rabies. He told the employee he wanted the vet’s office to euthanize the dog and cut its head off, presumably to test for rabies.
A 2:35 p.m., a Kings River Way man reported his dog bit his daughter several times in the face, requiring stitches. He said he was taking the animal to a Ponderosa Lane veterinary hospital to have the dog euthanized, then take it to the animal shelter to have a tissue sample sent for rabies testing.
An observant motorist reported passing a tarp covered with blood with a pair of underwear and a pair of gloves on top on the west side of a bridge.
A concerned person reported anonymously that bartenders at a U.S. 2 East bar in Coram have been serving minors for months.
