Bigfork painter leads artists' forum

| January 2, 2013 5:30 PM

Bigfork painter Thomas G. Lewis leads the first Crits and Croissants forum of the new year at the Hockaday Museum of Art.

Crits and Croissants: A Saturday Morning Artist’s Critique, offers those who create art a chance to have their work reviewed by professionals. Artists 15 and older may bring one or more pieces of recently created artwork for critique while enjoying coffee and croissants.

Lewis will address shape, color, value and edges, and identifying those elements in a participant’s painting. He will also discuss each participant’s personal growth as an artist.

Lewis will share insights into color temperature, solid design shapes, the critical importance of edges and the world of values, all while making each brushstroke count.

Crits and Croissants takes place every second Saturday of the month from September through May. This month’s session is from 10:30 a.m. to noon Jan. 12 in the Hockaday’s classroom. There is a $5 fee for museum members, $7 for nonmembers.

The museum is located at 302 Second Ave. E., Kalispell. For further information, visit www.hockadaymuseum.org or call 755-5268.
