Cultural and Art History Club to review 2012 artists

| January 2, 2013 5:30 PM

Stumptown Art Studio’s Cultural and Art History Club will review several artists from 2012 at its January meeting.

The club is a discussion group for people who love to learn and expand their knowledge about art history. Each month, the group discusses a different artist and how those artists have influenced art history.

January’s discussion will include comparing and contrasting the last five artists the club has examined: Montana artist David Shaner, American artist Mary Cassatt, European artist Lucian Freud and world artists Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera.

It would be helpful to do a little research before the meeting, in order to fully participate in discussions.

The club meets from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at Stumptown Art Studio, 145 Central Ave., Whitefish. There is a $5 drop-in fee, or pay for an annual membership.
