Contract up for park concessioner
The long-term concessions contract held by Glacier Park Inc. expires at the end of this year, and Glacier National Park will accept proposals for businesses to provide lodging, food and beverage, retail and other visitor services into the future.
By far the park’s largest concessions contractor, GPI has a contract that was initiated in 1981 and expires on Dec. 31, 2013.
A new 16-year contract will take effect Jan. 1, 2014, with the winning bidder to operate seasonal concessions at five lodging locations, 10 food and beverage locations, eight retail locations and road-based tours and transportation, along with other services in the park.
Interested parties are being asked to submit proposals through the National Park Service’s Commercial Services website at: http://www.concessions.nps.gov/prospectuses.htm
The site includes a prospectus that provides information on the business opportunities and the terms and conditions of the contract.
