Ambulance dispatched for avalanche victim

The Flathead County 911 Center dispatched an ambulance to the Middle Fork Flathead corridor Tuesday afternoon for a person who was injured by an avalanche. The victim was apparently able to walk to U.S. 2 on a trail at Glacier National Park’s Fielding Guard Station several miles west of Marias Pass. The report came in at about 4:40 p.m. with an initial request for ALERT helicopter, which could not fly because of weather conditions.

Kalispell Police got a report Monday regarding a person attempting to leave a store on West Idaho with a cart full of groceries. The person left the store but without the groceries.

A man called from Sixth Avenue East to report a physical altercation between his son’s girlfriend and her ex-boyfriend at another location.

A woman reported that videos were taken of her without her knowledge at a Stratford Drive address.

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office got a report Monday from the owner of a business on Holt Drive who said that all of her signs in the Bigfork area were defaced in recent days.

A man on Haskill Basin Road reported that someone opened up a PayPal account using his name and Social Security number, running up a $2,500 tab.

A man calling from U.S. 93 South of Kalispell said he has been reading the Constitution recently, and he doesn’t believe he needs a license or insurance to operate a vehicle on the road. He was counseled.

There was a report of a man attempting to grab an 8-year-old girl as she walked through a trailer park on Shady Lane in Evergreen.

There was a report of a storage unit being broken into on Montana 35 in the Bigfork area, but it was unclear if anything was missing.

There was a burglary report involving the front window of a residence on Hathaway Lane being removed. It appeared prescription medication and other items were taken.

Early Tuesday, at about 3 a.m., a BNSF railroad employee reported seeing explosions near Olney in the Upper Stillwater Lake area. Lincoln Electric Cooperative confirmed that a transformer exploded, leaving four residential areas without power.

Columbia Falls Police got a report Monday from a woman who said her daughter, 14, punched her and threatened to cut her with a piece of broken glass at a Third Avenue West residence. The girl escaped the house through a window but was later arrested for partner-family member assault.
