| January 9, 2013 7:30 PM

Local performing arts groups are teaming up to bring Serge Prokofiev’s “Peter and the Wolf” to life this month.

Glacier Symphony will provide the music, and dancers from Kalispell’s Noble Dance will act out the story of the boy who sneaks out of his yard and befriends animals in the woods. The concert will also feature Natalie Dungey, a 13-year-old trumpet virtuoso from Issaquah, Wash.

Performances of “Peter and the Wolf” will be held at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 19 at the Whitefish Performing Arts Center and 3 p.m. Jan. 20 at the Flathead High School performance hall in Kalispell.

Tickets are available in a range of prices and seating tiers. All youths through grade 12 are admitted free to these concerts.

Call Glacier Symphony and Chorale to reserve student seats. To purchase tickets, call the symphony office at 257-3241 or buy online at www.gscmusic.org.
