Cross-country skier airlifted
A woman who suffered a medical emergency while cross-country skiing by herself at Herron Park was airlifted out of the woods and taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center for treatment on Sunday.
Flathead County Sheriff’s Office, Flathead County Search and Rescue and the ALERT helicopter all responded to help find the woman, who called for help after collapsing in the snow.
ALERT located the woman about six miles from a trail head, landed and took the woman to the hospital. She is expected to make a full recovery, Sheriff Chuck Curry said Sunday evening.
Early Sunday morning, a taxi driver stopped on Hutton Ranch Road told Kalispell Police that she had two drunk men fist-fighting in her van, one of them with a bloodied face. Officers arrived and arrested a man for resisting arrest and obstruction.
A caller on West Utah Street complained about two men fighting, cussing and slamming doors downstairs. An officer responded and advised that the men “were wrestling ... so to speak.”
Saturday night, a Dumpster fire was put out on Second Avenue West.
A jail employee reported a man sleeping in the front lobby. Employees there woke the man up and asked him to leave, but the man said it was cold outside and he wanted to know his options for staying somewhere.
Earlier on Saturday, an Eighth Avenue West man told police he lives in a condemned shack and that his landlord threw out his belongings.
A Fifth Avenue East woman said a neighbor who is a registered sex offender came over and knocked on her door.
Officers arrested a woman for theft at a store on First Avenue East North.
A woman on 10th Avenue West told police that a man stole the hood off an old truck a neighbor is storing for her. The man ended up giving the hood back, the woman said, but has been harassing her for two days and threatening to damage her car.
Polson Police arrested someone for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol early Saturday morning.
Someone was arrested for partner family member assault by Ronan Police on Saturday.
