Music school offers February classes for kids, adults
North Valley Music School offers classes for music students of all ages in February.
Calliope Kids, for ages 5 to 7, features a Percussion Family class. The four-week session runs from 3:30 to 4:15 p.m. Mondays from Feb. 4 through March 4.
This class is designed specifically for the “big kids” and offers the chance to experience music through song, rhythm, movement, art, instrument exploration, basic note-reading and fun.
There is a limit of eight students in the class, which costs $45. Register by Monday.
Groovy Music is a class for ages 7 to 9. Using MacBooks, students will create their own music with an interactive, age-appropriate music tech program.
The class runs from 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. Mondays from Feb. 4 through March 4.
There is a five-person limit. The class costs $45. Register by Monday.
Not all classes are for children; the Morning Uke Group is for adults who want to learn to play the ukulele.
The group is a casual, fun, nonperformance-oriented class. Participants will learn basic chords, strum patterns and simple songs.
The four-week class runs from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday mornings from Feb. 6 through 27. The course costs $45. Register by Wednesday.
