A 30-year-old Polson man is in custody after tips from the public and further investigation connected him to two burglaries in Lake County.

According to a press release from the Polson Police Department, Robert Taylor was arrested Wednesday in connection with a Dec. 30, 2012, burglary at Western Building Center.

Taylor was identified by citizens who recognized him in images released by the department.

During the investigation, video footage turned up from recently installed surveillance cameras at St. Joseph’s Hospital that captured Taylor allegedly trying to get into a closed area of the hospital on Dec. 18, 2012.

“We would like to thank the members of the public who came forward with the information that led to solving these crimes,” Polson Assistant Police Chief Clint Cottle said.
