Grant to help improve radio signals at school
A grant from Flathead Electric will buy new equipment to improve police radio communication at Glacier High School, the Kalispell Police Department said.
The high school’s construction does not allow penetration of the department’s digital radio system inside or outside of the building.
A $2,463 grant from Flathead Electric’s Round Up for Safety Program will buy new equipment to be installed in the school by Flathead County Office of Emergency Services and Glacier High School technicians.
Once installed, the equipment “will result in a substantial improvement in the quality of public safety radio communications inside of the school, which is important for the safety of students, staff and officers in the event of a police or fire emergency,” the police department said.
