Celebrated New York City song-and-dance duo, Two on Tap, returns to Whitefish in Alpine Theatre Project’s “Fascinating Rhythm: A Musical Hot Toddy.”

The performance starts at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 2 at the O’Shaughnessy Center.

Rounding out Two on Tap’s Melissa Giattino and Ron DeStefano will be Alpine Theatre’s own Betsi Morrison, Nick and Rebecca Spear, and Luke Walrath, with David Snyder on piano. This celebration of classic song and dance will feature songs from the Great American Songbook, including music by the Gershwins, Cole Porter, Jerome Kern, Irving Berlin, and Rodgers and Hart.

“We’re calling it ‘a sparkling celebration of classic song and dance,’” said Morrison, Alpine Theatre’s artistic director, who is directing the evening. “Ron and Melissa are two of the finest song-and-dance duos out there today. It’s a real throwback to the great duos of years past, like Fred and Ginger, Gene and Cyd, and Mickey and Judy.”

Two on Tap is the creative collaboration of celebrated musical theater performers Giattino and DeStefano. Exciting pieces created by noted tap choreographer Richard Schwartz as well as their own original numbers celebrate the iconic style of those famous duos from the Silver Screen.

Since debuting at Alpine Theatre Project in 2010, Two on Tap has entertained tens of thousands at theatrical concerts across the United States and in headline performances onboard luxury cruise liners, including the Queen Mary 2.

Giattino comes to Whitefish by way of Walrath. The two performed on Broadway together in the Tony Award revival of “42nd Street.” A former Radio City Rockette, Giattino also performed in “Show Boat” on London’s West End and last starred at Alpine Theatre Project in “A Grand Night for Singing.”

DeStefano starred opposite Theodore Bikel in the national tour of “Fiddler on the Roof” as well as in many other musicals around the country, including Alpine Theatre’s “The Full Monty” and “Spelling Bee.” He is also a Back Stage Bistro Award-winning cabaret performer.

Snyder is the principal arranger for the New York Pops at Carnegie Hall. He has also worked with such greats as composers John Williams and Henry Mancini and served as musical director for Tony Award-winners Christine Ebersole and Nell Carter. No stranger to the Great American Songbook, he recently orchestrated “Here to Stay: The Gershwin Experience,” a symphonic concert produced by the Gershwin Estate.

Tickets to the show are $30 for adults and $18 for students, plus a $1 processing fee. The show is sponsored by Don K Subaru and the Whitefish Lake Restaurant.
