Kalispell students showcase their art

| January 31, 2013 10:56 AM

Kalispell students’ artistic works in a variety of media will be on display Feb. 25.

Kalispell Education Foundation’s An Evening of Fine Arts takes place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Flathead Valley Community College’s Arts and Technology Building. Students from Flathead and Glacier high schools and Kalispell Middle School will offer live performances and display artwork they’ve created this year in this third annual showcase of local talent.

Appetizers and an art gallery show kick off the event in the main hall. Performances begin at 6 p.m.; band members, tap dancers, speech and debate duos, choir members and other performers will offer selections.

Teachers who have received grant funds through Kalispell Education Foundation will also be on hand to share highlights of their projects.

The event features desserts by chef Howard Karp and the college’s Culinary Institute of Montana students. A no-host bar will also be available.

Tickets are $40 each and are available at the Glacier and Flathead high school main offices and the Hockaday Museum of Art. The education foundation will use proceeds to benefit the college’s art department and Kalispell Public Schools students through classroom grants.
