Romance served up with elegant evening
Enjoy some of the world’s most beloved romantic ballads in two performances of “So in Love,” an elegant evening of music featuring the Glacier Symphony and Chorale’s Glacier Chamber Singers and The Great Pretenders on Friday, Feb. 8, and Saturday, Feb. 9, in Kalispell.
Doors will open at 7 p.m. for the shows that will be staged in the intimate setting of the Alpine Ballroom, upstairs at 333 S. Main in Kalispell. The singers will dress in tuxedos and an array of formal gowns. Patrons are invited to dress formally as well to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
The evening begins with socializing to a serenade of violin and piano music. Then guests will take their seats at tables where dessert samplers will be served. The Glacier Chamber singers and The Great Pretenders, GSC’s popular male quartet, will begin at 7:30 p.m. An entertaining lineup of romantic songs has been chosen by Chorale conductor Jim Stanard, including “Smoke Gets in Your Eyes,” “Love Look Away,” “I've Got You Under My Skin,” “My Funny Valentine,” “Love and Marriage,” “Some Enchanted Evening,” and Cole Porter’s “So in Love.”
