Sheriff's office investigates man's death on Foy's Lake
The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Kalispell man’s death at Foy’s Lake Sunday night.
The man was identified as Lance Joseph Deglow, 49, who was in a 12-foot aluminum boat on the lake with his wife, two children, ages 9 and 12, and his dog.
At about 9:30 p.m., the boat capsized near North Foy’s Lake Road, about 40 to 50 feet from shore. The family began swimming for shore, and the wife reported that Deglow suddenly became unresponsive about 25 feet from shore, requiring her to retrieve him.
CPR was initiated and continued after emergency responders arrived, but with no success. Deglow’s wife said he was a strong swimmer and that he was helping her to shore when he became unresponsive.
It is unknown if his death was the result of a medical event or drowning, a sheriff’s office press release states.
An autopsy is scheduled, and the death remains under investigation.
