Messy vandalism reported in Columbia Falls

The Columbia Falls Police Department responded to a call on Ninth Street West where someone had thrown garbage all over and had egged the back door. The manager had a suspect he wanted the police to investigate.

A caller on Ninth Street West reported a man he knew was attempting to sell him two stolen laptops and an iPad. The caller, a Microsoft fan, balked and reported him to the police. Officers made arrangements to go to his residence today to speak to the young man.

An employee at a business on Ninth Street West reported several minors asking people to buy them booze. The police spoke to the kids, who shuffled their feet and denied any part in it. The officer advised them they were under 18 and out past curfew.

The owner of an 11th Avenue West garage found a man passed out there. The owner said he didn’t recognize the man and wanted the hard partyer removed.

 

The Whitefish Police Department responded to a rogue Canadian parked on private property on Marina Crest Lane. The Canadian was told he couldn’t set up a tent in the middle of the road.

A dog with a damaged voice box was barking at a residence on Cedar Street. Someone thought the dog might have been abused. Officers reported three healthy-looking dogs at the scene.

At an apartment on Bay Point Drive, an intoxicated person broke into the residence, made a sandwich and then left. The “bologna burglar” is still at large.

A caller on Columbia Avenue reported his laptop had been stolen and sold at a nearby pawn shop.

Underage girls in bikinis were reportedly on a boat drinking alcohol. Officers were unable to locate the boat, which seems surprising considering, every man at that beach knew not only exactly where it was, but what color tops the women were wearing.

A man sat at a blocked railroad crossing on Birch Point Drive for 65 minutes before his child called the authorities. An official with BNSF said he would check on the train.

A man stormed out of the hospital when a doctor would not prescribe oxycodone. He was reported saying, “That’s why God made .45s!” In a panic, doctors called the authorities. The man claimed he was talking about the alcoholic beverage with all the smoothness of Billy Dee Williams.

 

The Columbia Falls Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Conn Road at 5:49 p.m.
