Legion baseball roundup: Lakers 2-2 at Woodbat Classic

SPOKANE, Wash. — The Kalispell Lakers AA squad is 2-2 after two days of play at the Spokane/Coeur d’Alene American Legion Woodbat Classic ’13 baseball tournament.

Dillon Eaves struck out seven, walked two and went the distance in Kalispell’s 3-2 come-from-behind victory over Okotoks Dawgs on Friday.

Kalispell’s Sean O’Connell tied the game at 2-2 with a two-run RBI single in the sixth inning.

A walk-off suicide squeeze by Justin Wallace scored Adam Franden, who led off the seventh inning with a double and advanced to third on a pinch-hit ground out by Chris Sibley.

The Lakers then lost to the Spokane Devils 9-1 in Friday’s other outing.

On Thursday, the Lakers whipped Post Falls Prairie 22-7, but lost to the Spokane Expos 10-6.

Kalispell’s Robert Reaser went 3 for 4 and drove in six runs in the win over Post Falls. He doubled in that contest.

Dillon Matteson went 4 for 4 and finished with two RBIs. Charlie Obermiller doubled for Kalispell and Eaves tripled.

The tournament ends today.

POLSON — The Mission Valley Mariners A blew open a tight game with four runs in the fourth and five more in the sixth for a 12-3 victory over the Missoula Pioneers.

Jeremiah Crawford drove in three runs for the Mariners and Quinn Harlan had two RBIs.

In other tournament games, it was Missoula Frontiers 10, Mission Valley B 6, Kootenai Valley Rangers 10, Glacier Twins B 4, Missoula Pioneers 8, Dillon Cubs 6, and Dillon Cubs 12, Cranbrook Bandits 1.
