Janet Arlys Szymanowski Baden, 76

Janet Arlys Szymanowski Baden, 76, of Malta, passed away on July 4, 2013, after her battle with cancer.

She was born March 5, 1937, in Reeder, N.D., the daughter of Josephine and Stanley Szymanowski. The family moved to Kalispell in 1941.

Janet graduated from Flathead County High School in 1955. She married Gary Baden in 1957 and became a Navy wife. After Gary's discharge, they lived in Bozeman while he attended school, then moved to Malta in 1964.

She managed the Heritage Manor Apartments in Malta for many years; however, her favorite roles were that of a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a friend to many. She enjoyed visiting over a cup of coffee with friends, crocheting and spending time with her family.

Janet was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her brother Jack.

She is survived by a son, Robert, and Kathy, of Friendswood, Texas; and a daughter, Lynda, and Wes Brown, of Malta; seven grandchildren, Kristin and Steven Mitchell of Orlando, Fla., Cindy and Dwayne Teagle of Fort Mill, S.C., Jeff and Carrie Baden of Spring, Texas, and Kimberly, Riley, Cole and Reese Brown of Malta; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Adelaide Cook of Florida and Judy Chittim of Oregon.

Funeral services were held July 9 at Kirkwood Memorial Chapel in Malta, with interment at the Malta Cemetery.
