Motorcyclist dies in U.S. 2 accident

A man on a motorcycle died Sunday afternoon after being thrown off his bike and over a guardrail on U.S. 2 near Kila.
The accident was reported just before 5 p.m.
A 911 dispatch report on the accident stated that the victim suffered a severe compound fracture to his right leg and that his helmet was partially crushed. The driver was thrown over a guardrail, and the motorcycle was found in the middle of the highway.
The Montana Highway Patrol is investigating the crash, but a trooper involved with the case could not be reached to provide additional information Monday.
