<p><strong>AN EMERGENCY RESPONDER</strong> holds an intravenous line while others work to move one of the victims of a head-on collision on U.S. 93 two miles south of Whitefish shortly after 1 p.m. Friday. At right, other responders attend to a victim in the other vehicle. Three people were injured in the collision, two of them apparently suffering serious injuries. At least one victim had to be extricated from his vehicle with the use of the Jaws of Life. The Whitefish and Kalispell fire departments responded to the accident, which shut down all but one lane of the highway for more than an hour. More than $2.5 million in energy-saving projects are being completed at the school, $1.2 million of which is paid for by a Quality Schools grant. Kalispell Public Schools also recently received $2.2 million in zero-interest Qualified Zone Academy Bond loans, which will be repaid over a 15-year period using energy savings.</p>
