Edward S. Kelley, 86
Edward S. Kelley, 86, passed away July 15, 2013, at the Montana Veterans Home in Columbia Falls.
He was born in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, on June 10, 1927, to Olive E. and Edward E. Kelley. Edward was educated in the Kalispell schools.
At the age of 17 he joined the Navy and was on the USS Missouri battleship, also known as the “Mighty Mo.” He witnessed the signing of the Peace Treaty. He was honorably discharged and returned to Kalispell.
He was a construction worker, working on the Hungry Horse Dam, the Aluminum Plant and Ureco Logging and Road Builders.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents; and is survived by his son Robert, and daughters Darlene and Glenda. Also surviving are his five sisters, Joanna Bitney, Patricia and Bob Higson, Jeanie and Leonard Knutson, Laura and Jack Cave and Ellen Fishel; and several grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

A private family graveside service is planned for 10 a.m. Thursday, July 18, at Glacier Memorial Gardens in Kalispell.
