Photographers invited to join unique exhibit
Bigfork photographer Lauren Grabelle invites fellow photographers to join her “Phototaxis” exhibit.
The exhibit will include a gathering and slideshow Aug. 23 in Polson.
Phototaxis is the movement of an organism in response to the stimulus of light, “like moths to a flame,” Grabelle says on her website.
There are several reasons to join the exhibit, Grabelle says on her site, including a low entry fee ($5), being part of a large-scale temporary art installation and inclusiveness — “everyone that submits gets in and all are invited to attend the live slideshow.”
The exhibit theme is open, but all submitted photos must be noncommissioned personal work. Photographers are asked to submit a minimum of five and maximum of 12 photos.
The slideshow will be projected on the side of a barn at Farm Road in Polson. The event will take place from 7 to 11 p.m., with the slideshow slated to start at 9 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
The submission deadline is Aug. 1. For more details, visit www.phototaxismt.org. Updates are also available at www.facebook.com/phototaxismt.
