Husband suspects wife of taking gun

A Diane Road couple were counseled and advised to keep it down for the night by a Columbia Falls Police Department officer after the husband called to complain that his wife took his gun and hid it, sharing his belief that she planted the weapon somewhere with the intention of harming him with it.

A shocked swimmer reported a man who came up to her and talked to her while she was swimming looked like a murder suspect she saw on TV.

Kalispell Police Department officers cited 16 youths for being a minor in possession of an intoxicating substance while responding to two calls over a little more than two hours.

At 1:17 a.m., officers responded to a U.S. 93 South hotel for a report of a bunch of youths partying in a room, and while they were on scene a fire alarm went off nearby. A total of seven youths were cited and released to their parents.

At 3:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of a loud party with cars driving in and out on Sherry Lane. Officers cited and released to their parents nine youths at the gathering.

Officers responded to a U.S. 93 South hotel after receiving a call from a night clerk who reported a roughly 50-year-old woman was beaten up in her room by a man who stole drugs and money from her. The clerk reported being uncomfortable speaking further about the incident. The suspect in the robbery was the man under whose name the room had been rented.

A drunk man with a Russian accent wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans, and flip flops was reported for giving attitude to a First Avenue East store clerk before passing out with an open container in front of the store. Officers dropped the man off at his home.

Several people flagged down an officer and another person called 911 after a man in a yellow Dodge Challenger did several burnouts in a church parking lot on Fifth Street West.

A fight between a mad motorist and her male passenger on East Oregon Street drew the attention of law enforcement and landed the woman in jail for drunk driving.

A newspaper deliverer was chased back into their car by a loose pit bull on Seventh Avenue West until the dog’s owner called it back inside.

A concerned citizen reported mindless motorists were crossing Main Street during the parade, cutting through it at every intersection.

An Ashar Avenue man contacted the Whitefish Police Department out of concern for his neighbor, whom he could see laying on the sidewalk. The man though his neighbor might be drinking. A responding officer reported the neighbor was laying in the grass trying to stay cool.

It is unclear whether a dog with tags indicating its owner was from Canada made it all the many miles back to its stated residence or just back to its owner, though an officer reported it “found its way home.”

A confused Central Avenue woman found a propane tank in her trash that she didn’t put there.

The Polson Police Department may have been gotten close to running out of handcuffs Friday, arresting four people — one for driving under the influence on Anchor Way, one for disorderly conduct at a bar on Anchor Way, and two for partner or family member assault resulting in serious bodily injury, both at the same 11th Avenue East apartment.

The Coram-West Glacier Fire Department and Flathead County Search and Rescue were dispatched to the area of Going to the Sun Road for an 18-year-old girl in the water shortly after 11 p.m. Friday, but the girl made it safely out of the water before responders arrived.
