Man admits rape charge involving 13-year-old

An 18-year-old Columbia falls man has admitted having sex with a 13-year-old girl.

Ryan William Taylor pleaded guilty July 11 in Flathead District Court to felony sexual intercourse without consent for having sex with the girl five times.

According to a court document, the victim told Taylor how old she was. Taylor also told a detective that he had told a friend he felt like a child molester because of his actions, which he regretted.

A juvenile case charging Taylor with misdemeanor theft was dismissed in exchange for his guilty plea to the rape charge.

Taylor now faces between four and 100 years or life in prison as well as a fine of up to $50,000 when he is sentenced on Sept. 5. He is currently incarcerated in the county jail.
