Stacy Ann Dagner, 46

| July 20, 2013 10:00 PM

Stacy Ann Dagner, 46, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 28, 2013, in Kalispell, at the home of her best friend, Tiena Harris.

She was born on Dec. 27, 1966, in Northwood, N.D., to Ronald and Eloise Dagner and spent her early years in Aneta and Alsen, N.D., before moving to Rolette, N.D., just as she was starting elementary school.

Stacy grew up in Rolette and attended high school there before graduating from Rolla High School in Rolla, N.D., in 1985. While in high school, she excelled in basketball and track, earning numerous awards in both sports.

Stacy was recruited out of high school to play basketball for University of North Dakota-Williston in Williston, where she earned an associate’s degree in education. Her fondest memories from UND-Williston came from staying at “Mom's House” and being coached by Coach Penny Slagle. She thought the world of her teammates.

Following college, Stacy was able to travel while working for her uncle's construction company, eventually landing in Hawaii for several years.  Upon her return stateside, she moved between Missoula and Kalispell for several years, finally settling with her extended family of great friends in the Kalispell area.

Stacy enjoyed her beloved Pittsburgh Steelers and looked forward to the opportunities to watch them, all decked out in her Steelers gear. She had numerous other hobbies including golfing, fishing and getting together with friends to share a laugh.

Stacy is survived by her mother, Eloise, of Sonoma, Calif.; her sister, Jodi, and Russ Bell, of LaBelle, Fla.; and brother, Scott, and Paige Dagner, of Sonoma; her nephews, Christopher and Rachael and Matty Bell; and nieces, Carly, Brooke and Jordann Dagner. She is also survived by her Kalispell family, Tiena Harris, Becky Walhus, Linette Erickson, Shirley Hange, Elaine Berg and Kathy Polejewski, as well as others too numerous to mention.

Stacy was preceded in death by her father, Ronald.

There will be a celebration of Stacy's life from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, at the VFW in Kalispell, including a potluck and no host bar. Please come and help us celebrate Stacy's life. Bring a picture if possible and a story.

Stacy will be remembered for her big heart, always wanting to help others, her loyalty and her infectious laugh.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to your local hospice or animal shelter.
