Legion baseball: Lakers fall to Mavericks

MISSOULA — Missoula broke a 1-all tie in the bottom of the second inning with a four-run rally, then pushed another run across the plate in the third and capped it off with six runs in the fourth to drop the Kalispell Lakers 12-2 in Class AA American Legion baseball play Monday evening.

The game ended after seven innings on the 10-run rule.

Robert Reaser led Kalispell in hitting, going 2 for 3. He had the team’s lone extra base hit — a double — and drove in a run.

The Lakers (26-24 overall, 9-9 league) host Bozeman on Wednesday for two conference games. Play begins at 5 p.m. at Griffin Field.

Kalispell closes out regular-season action with a Saturday home doubleheader with Medicine Hat at 1 p.m.

The state tournament begins July 31 in Billings.
