Hockaday event includes Bibler tour

| July 24, 2013 6:00 PM

Blossoms and Brushstrokes, a fundraiser for the Hockaday Museum of Art, is scheduled for Aug. 17.

The event includes a stroll through Kalispell’s Bibler Gardens, catered treats, live music, and live and silent auctions. The evening takes place from 5 to 8 p.m.

Blossoms and Brushstrokes will include food by Suzanne Hyatt of Taste This! catering, and live music by champion fiddler, guitarist and mandolin player Jesse Maw. Whistling Andy and Glacier Distillery will host a complimentary bar with specialty drinks, wine and beer.

The silent auction will include custom designed birdhouses by local artists, designers, architects and craftsmen. The live auction, which begins at 6 p.m., includes work by five award-winning Montana artists: Rob Akey, Gail Hansen, Karen Leigh, Nick Oberling and Janet Sullivan.

Guests are encouraged to wear white attire; there will be a prize for the best ensemble of summer white.

Parking will be available at Family Life Christian Church, 1075 Foy’s Lake Road. A shuttle service will take guests to Bibler Gardens beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Tickets are $100 for museum members, or $125 for nonmembers. Because the Hockaday is a registered 501(c) 3 nonprofit, $50 of each reservation is tax-deductible.

The event is limited to 100 guests, so sign up early. Make reservations by calling 755-5268.
