Local runners grab Boogie to the Bank honors
COLUMBIA FALLS — Runners from Bigfork, Kalispell and Whitefish captured individual titles Saturday morning at the annual Boogie to the Bank run during Heritage Days.
Kalispell’s Annie Hall posted the top time for women in the 10k with her 39 minute, 1.3 second effort. She finished 18 seconds ahead of runner-up Sarah Perry of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Jace Kalbfleisch of Whitefish was the men’s champion with a time of 35:33.8. Aaron Benson of Kalispell was second, 36:18.7.
Kalbfleisch and Benson were the only runners to break 37 minutes.
The 10k had 37 women finish and 31 men.
In the popular 5k, Makena Morley of Bigfork cruised to a winning time of 16:55.3. Her time was just over a minute faster than runner-up Heather Fraley of Kalispell, 17:59.1.
Troy Fraley easily captured the men’s honor with a time of 14:56.3.
Steve Morley of Bigfork was second, 15:58.0.
There were 95 women finishers in the 5k to 68 for the men.
In the 5k walk, Kinsey Wanen of Columbia Falls and KC Lane of Douglas, Wyo., had the best times for women and men, 30:01.6 and 44:38.4, respectively. The walk had 37 finishers.
