Driver sentenced to treatment
A Kalispell man will be incarcerated only during his treatment after pleading no contest to his fourth offense of driving under the influence.
Pietr Kubai, 43, was arrested Sept. 2, 2012, after being reported driving recklessly and fleeing the scene of an accident.
Kubai was released during his court proceedings, but later was arrested again after violating conditions of release, which included that he not frequent any business where alcohol is a main item of sale. He had been seen at the casino at the Montana Club on South Main Street.
Kubai was sentenced July 25 by District Judge Ted Lympus, who ordered him to spend 13 months in the Montana Department of Corrections Warm Springs Addiction Treatment and Change program to be followed by three years of probation.
He also was ordered to pay a $250 fine and a $200 public defender fee.
