Five-time drunk driver sentenced
A Kalispell man is heading to treatment after pleading guilty to his fifth offense of driving under the influence.
Michael Bacon, 42, struck a pole on U.S. 2 on Oct. 12, 2012, and was found in his vehicle 200 yards away, unable to keep driving due to a fender stuck in his tire.
He previously was convicted of drunk driving in March 1993, April 1993, May 1997, and August 2003.
During a July 25 hearing, District Judge Ted Lympus sentenced Bacon to 13 months in the Montana Department of Corrections Warm Springs Addiction Treatment and Change program to be followed by three years of probation.
He also was ordered to pay a $200 public defender fee.
