Polson Players explore noir with 'Tryst'

| July 31, 2013 5:30 PM

The Port Polson Players continue their 38th season of summer theater with the psychological thriller "Tryst."

The magical and mysterious noir movement of stage and screen was home to legendary storytellers such as Alfred Hitchcock and Rod Serling. “Tryst” is a masterful representation of that genre. A classic tale of the ever-present battle of good and evil, the show hearkens back to a golden era of writing.

The year is 1910. This suspenseful show centers on a man who woos and weds spinster women with a little money stashed away. Mr. Love has selected another victim: an aging milliner's assistant.

Appearing in this two-person play are the Players’ managing and artistic directors Neal and Karen Lewing.

"Tryst" runs through Aug. 11 at the John Dowdall Theatre on the south end of Flathead Lake in Polson. Curtain time is 8 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, with Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.

Ticket prices are $18 for adults and $17 for senior citizens and students. Because of the sophisticated storyline, "Tryst" is not recommended for young children.
