Rae Karolyn McMaster, 65

Rae Karolyn McMaster, 65, of Kalispell, passed away peacefully at her home on March 12, 2013, after a long battle with cardiovascular disease.

Rae was born in Valley City, N.D., on Nov. 13, 1948. She graduated from Columbia Falls High School and continued on to receive a two-year Associate of Arts degree from Flathead Valley Community College. 

She worked for over 20 years as a 911 dispatcher for the city of Columbia Falls and the Flathead County Sheriff’s Department. 

Her grandchildren were her passion and delight. Rae will be remembered by her family for her little acts of kindness and love, which are the best parts of a person’s life.  

Rae is survived by her son, Kevin McMaster, his wife Heather, their daughter Tasja and son Adrian; her three siblings, Tom Carlson of Tampa, Fla., Vernon Carlson of Williston, N.D., and Paula Robinson of Columbia Falls; and many more beloved family and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank McMaster; their two sons, Carey and Ian; her father, James Carlson; and mother, Violet Carlson.

Cremation has taken place and there will be a private memorial service for family members in June.

Memorials may be given to the Flathead County Animal Shelter.
