Evergreen raises connection fees
Water connection fees charged by the Evergreen Water and Sewer District increased by about 25 percent on June 1.
The fees are charged for new connections to the district’s water system. They were last adjusted in 2006 and vary based on the size of connection.
The fee for a 3/4-inch connection increased 28 percent, from $800 to $1,029. The fee for a one-inch connection increased almost 25 percent, from $2,100 to $2,624.
Fees get larger for two-inch ($10,424), three-inch ($23,471), four-inch ($41,726), six-inch ($93,835) and eight-inch ($166,863) water connections.
Connection fees for the district’s sewer collection system have not been adjusted.
For current customers of the utility, the district increased its water and sewer rates by 5 percent last September to offset higher operating costs and will probably increase at least sewer rates again this year.
